Fall Smoothie Recipes

Fall Smoothie Top

I am loving my new Shaklee Life Shake!  I drink a lot of smoothies and these smoothies not only taste amazing, but they have no artificial sweeteners, flavors, colors or any of the junk.  They DO have all the nutrients to replace a full meal, which is always helpful for a meal on the go, like in the hustle of the morning rush to get out of the house and to school on time, or if you are too busy at work to go out, or you run out of the house without your packed lunch or pretty much any time!   Love, love, love all the options and how I feel all day.  I recently hosted a freezer smoothie workshop and it was a huge hit.  If you would like to learn how to host your own and get 14 smoothies for free – let me know!

Summertime Must Haves 5

It’s officially SUMMER!!! YAY!!!  Who doesn’t love summer time?  We love it in our house.  It means lazier wake up times, even though we still need to get my son to his Explorers Club and the hubby and I still work {I work part time now, but I get it over with in the mornings – lol}.   It means lots of sun, water and outdoor BBQs.   It’s just a great time to reconnect with family, friends and the outdoors.  Yes, in Texas it gets super hot, but we much prefer the heat to the cold so it doesn’t bother us. Plus with these summertime must have’s you can’t go wrong. [Read more…]

The Best Way to Organize Kids Art

June 16, 2015 by Chandra Filed Under: Blog Leave a Comment

Finally!  I’ve figured out a way to organize my kiddo’s art!  Are you like me and have piles upon piles of kid art because you just can’t part with it or you want to keep it, but you just don’t know what to do with it?  Do these pictures resemble your house? And I only have ONE kid, but with him finishing official Kindergarten, I knew I had to find a solution.  And this solution is sooooo easy – I can’t believe I didn’t figure it out sooner.   [Read more…]

Brussels Sprout Salad

June 12, 2015 by Chandra Filed Under: Blog, Eat Clean, Recipes Leave a Comment

37621658_sBrussels sprouts are small, leafy green buds resembling miniature cabbages.  They are a rich source of protein, dietary fiber, vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants.  I’m not typically a fan of brussel sprouts, but I’ve been experimenting and this recipe is my new all time favorite – yummo!  I can literally sit down and eat this whole recipe.  Plus it makes a great side dish to anything. You’ll really surprise your BBQ guests with how tasty AND healthy this one is… [Read more…]

Disconnect and Slow Down to Reboot

Tech OverloadAre you as crazy busy as we are?  I bet you are because crazy busy is the new norm.  You find yourself rushing around from this practice to that practice, to school, to work, to social events, and add onto that late night conference calls, school volunteering, weekend errand running, it’s all about the rush and it gets overwhelming.  Even our vacations are busy. Switch Brands, Save $ and Simplify your Life!

April 6, 2015 by Chandra Filed Under: Blog, Live Green, Shaklee Leave a Comment

Simplifying life doesn’t have to be complicated!

It might be as easy as cleaning out clutter from under your kitchen sink.  BTW, what’s under yours?  What do you use to clean floors, walls, windows, counter tops, mirrors, doors, hand washables, showers, etc?  One bottle of Shaklee Basic H2 has more than 1000 uses.  It can replace multiple cleaners under your sink to save space and remove “clutter”.  We did this years ago and this year we are de-cluttering in so many other areas of our lives as well.  It’s very liberating.   Back to Basic H2, it costs pennies to use because it’s SO highly concentrated.  You simply add water.  Mix 1-2 drops of Basic H2 with 16 oz of water in a spray bottle for windows and it costs only 1 cent.  Add 1/4 teas to 16 oz water in a spray bottle and you get an all purpose cleaner costing 3 cents a bottle. Even if you buy your cleaners at the dollar store or make your own with vinegar, you’ll still pay more than that!  And they work….Once you try, you’ll never want to clean with anything else!

Go Green for St. Patrick’s Day

March 16, 2015 by Chandra Filed Under: Blog, Live Green, Shaklee Leave a Comment

Happy St. Patrick’s Day!  Don’t forget to wear your green and if you are looking for fun ways to green up your day try these:

Green Eggs for the Kiddo

Blend 1 egg and handful of spinach in blender, then scramble like normal.  Kids won’t taste the spinach but will think this is super cool, plus they’ll love to help make them!  In a pinch you can use natural food coloring.

How I Gave up Soda {aka Coke} for Good

March 9, 2015 by Chandra Filed Under: Blog, Eat Clean Leave a Comment

I wasn’t always a soda {aka Coke} drinker!

No More SodaI call any kind of soda “Coke” {no not the illegal powdery stuff, but really maybe the brown fizzy liquid in the red can should be illegal} so let’s just get that clarification out of the way because to me the two words are going to be interchangeable in this post.  There I said it – all soda is coke {for some that might be Pepsi or pop or soda pop or sodey – it’s all the same}.  For me my addiction was to Diet Mt. Dew.

TESTIMONIALS

Vitalizer, vita-strip is my go-to for daily health. I’m a busy, working mom and it’s so nice to know my supplements will come right to my doorstep. Some days are so hectic that I don’t have time to cook a healthy meal or exercise, but I know I’ve done something great for my body by taking Vitalizer. I even took it as a prenatal vitamin (along with some extra B complex) knowing it was safe and healthy for my baby and myself.

What an absolutely fun and educational class!  My daughter loved getting to control her veggie selections but also have the opportunity to try things she hadn’t before.  This class is an amazing perspective for kids to learn how to make healthy food choices.  She loved it so much that she made it at home and was so proud to pick the ingredients.  Thank you Chandra for making food fun!  My daughter can’t wait for the next class!

I have been eating pretty healthy for a while now, but typically get derailed by the end of the week due to being overwhelmed and under prepared.  I was lucky enough to be chosen to test pilot the Unjunk Your Diet program for the last 3 weeks and I love it!  I found that it was easy to follow, the meal organization tips helped me stay on track ALL week, the recipes are really delicious and simple to make, and as a side benefit I’ve lost 4 lbs!!!  I thought I felt good before, but my energy is through the roof these day….woohoo!!!

My 5 year old son loved the Healthy Hands cooking class and has told all of our family about how he got to cook “purple carrots.” He’s also telling them about all of the other veggies he tried and was so proud of his cooking skills he’s offered to cook for his grandparents the next time they are in town!  I loved that he was willing to try several new vegetables and would definitely recommend Chef Chandra to any mom who wants her family to start eating healthy!
